LMAO ds's tattletale friend.

Ds had a friend over today, and I am not at all used to having people over-I usually feel too embarrased about my house...but today he had one come over for about 45 min.

The child came to me every 3 minutes to tell me that ds had called him a name, ds had taken a toy down to play, ds had done this and done that...(Some of it was just like "play by play" and it wasnt even anything that he was doing wrong!)

Ds did pour juice on the boys head (out of a sippy thank GOD!) so I made ds sit at the table with it (which I should have done in the first place) and the other child goes "HE GOT OUT OF TIME OUT!!!" I laughed and said "he isnt in timeout." The kid looked shocked. (I know he comes from a heavy punsihment home, and I try not to have more rules than I can stand to enforce...I am pretty lax)

It was really funny but I was having a hard time refereeing! I have no clue how to do kids at my house without their parents!!!

And I was also having a really hard time keeping my 2 yr old out of the boys hair. She freaked out every time I took her out of the room they were playing in. Tantrum city!

LOL - One of my older ds's friends used to be like that, and I don't even think he comes from a heavily punished home. He does have two siblings very close in age, so he was a constant tattler. He even did the play by plays of what my ds was doing - lol. I used to just say "thank you for telling me" and leave it at that.

Thankfully, he outgrew it about a year ago. They are both 8 years old now and get along better than they ever have. They've really clicked in the past year actually and I sometimes wonder if it's because this kid finally stopped being a tattle tale.

yeah, I said that...I also encouraged the boy to tell my ds what he was unhappy about. Thats how I would have parented ds, so I guess thats what I would do with the boy!

Hey I wonder if punitive parents punish kids when they are at their house in their style? (Like putting them in time out?)
