Baby wedge thingies

Is anyone planning to use one of those wedges that hold baby on their back in bed?

Hubby is worried about the mattress causing baby to roll toward us and suffocate. Our mattress gets a bit funky in the middle. Bummer ::

I figured the wedge would make him feel better about cosleeping.

They have one that's slightly elevated at the head too, and that might help baby. We usually have stuffy nosed babies. Oh ewww, the reviews are terrible on that one. Nevermind!

I'm not in your DDC, but I thought I would let you know, I have one of these: http://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Ai.../dp/B000058CC4
actually I have two. During the first two months it really gave me piece of mind.
A couple times I did roll a little, and the hard inside of the rolls, dug into my side, adn woke me up as I neared rolling onto my infant. I could still nurse and everything, but I didn't risk smooshing her. (however irrational that fear, it made me feel better)

what about this? We have an older model that does not have the wedge thing or the light.

We used it for a bit with DS out of paranoia - but, it was hard to fit in our bed...we were in a DOUBLE!!

Thankfully now we have a queen - moving up in the world, :

My DD sleeps on her side facing me (nursing) or on her belly. *shrug* she hates sleeping on her back and sleeps horribly if I try to force her.

someone on freecycle or my AP group here said they had a snuggle nest for me...yayyyyyy! now i just need to figure out who that is that has it...gotta scan thru my emails....they haven't replied to my reply. maybe i'll reply again.

Yeah, I'd go with the snugglenest. Those sleep positioners would move it seems. We didn't co-sleep but I would have felt comfortable with the snugglenest.

We aren't co-sleeping this time either. DH can't handle the grunts and the sound of BFing in the middle of the night...he sleeps too lightly. It would be nice to have baby close for those nighttime feeds though!

We don't use anything special. My babies are belly sleepers. I try to start 'em off on their backs but they fuss and fidget until I flip them over. I just have to make sure they sleep between me and the wall because DH doesn't have that sensitivity during sleep to not squash the baby.

The one from First Years is similar to what we had with my other boys. No probs with them. No movement, etc. So I am less concerned about that.

Snuggle Nest is quite the contraption. Wow. If I could find one really cheaply I would give it a try. Otherwise I will just go with a simple wedge/roll kind.
