I have not ordered anything yet, but I am plan on getting a Brock Magicscope. DC1 wants to take Nordic lessons and DC2 wants to take gymnastics lessons. They both want headlights so they can kicksled at night. I am also interested in a Family Pastimes game.

What are you getting? Anything special related to HSing?

we are getting a microscope and a wii from my folks. my inlaws......not sure what they are giving the kids yet. as for me and dh, we are still trying to figure out what we want to give the kiddos. i know i want to buy some more board games and puzzles, and for my dd we're buying a child's loom. not sure about my ds, he really loves action figures right now. i'll probably get him some awesome wood building blocks or more legos. sigh...so much i want, but only so much money....it's hard to decide!!

I think we are making a big set of wooden blocks, buying a mini tramp with handle and either buying or making a marble run and a balance beam. I also purchased a vintage all metal tonka for my daughter off of ebay. I bought some 29.00 sansa mp3 players off of woot for putting stories on for my kids to listen to on trips; I can't read in a car without getting sick. I would like some basic wooden puzzles as well.

Craft supplies, a keyboard, cameras for each of them, board games. That's what I have so far.

My kids have asked for some pretty odd stuff this year! I've heard requests for a vaccum cleaner, a fish tank, a floor rug and a *land creature* (for a pet-I think she meant a small mammal) along with the more average things like a Nintendo DS, new X-box games, books and Cds.

I'm thinking they'll each get some books (already bought), a few new X-box games (ditto) or computer games, and probably a board game. In addition each child will get one big gift (CD player for DD, that rug for DS and the land creature for DD2

Dd is getting a teaching cash register by learning resource, I think it will be fun for playing store and for learning math. I'm still figuring the rest out, but doing some just toy stuff too.
Let's see...Stockmar crayons, Wii (for the whole family, really), and some new wooden toys....blocks, archway blocks, dominoes, play food for their kitchen, some holztiger figures, one of those big spiral/waldorfy puzzles, new scooters (DD's got stolen and DS is ready for a Razor), and a couple Family Pastimes games. We did a big clean out after the China crap so we have some toy substituting to do. The nice thing is it is all more open-ended and supportive of building creativity (and way less crap around the house LOL). I had way too much fun in that toy coop!!

Ds has requested a beginner paintball kit, a game for his wii, a bed side lamp (so he can read in bed, his current lamp is too bright and keeps him up), this Mecchano set , a Mechanical Dictionary and a magnet compass from Lee Valley

wanted to come back and add "lincoln logs" for our son

Right now the plan is MP3 players(they have recently discovered the joy of mobile music.) and a pink Nintendo DS for my 10 yr old w/ some games she has asked for. This will be the first video game type thing any of them have had. It's particularly for when she is "bored" at her sisters' classes(gym, dance, etc.) and for trips.

Those are the only definite things I have planned so far. I could make a list 2 miles long of stuff I would like to get each of them. I come up w/ more ideas each day.

The family gift is a Wii.

The boys will be getting a few handmade gifts as well, magic wands, clay, art smock...

The grandparents will be asked to give them either money towards Nintendo DS (because I told then they had to buy them with their own money!), zoo membership or gift certificates for archery equipment (not that any of us need anymore!).
DD has made a list and I'll send it to grandparents and relatives.

2 Pixel Chix sets
rubber chicken (don't ask! )
chess set
compass
playmobil hospital
books
anything Pokemon

Monica, I just wanted to share. We gave dd (then 11) a pink DS last year for Christmas. She started crying because she never thought we would give her one : It was so sweet. It was our first foray into games systems or handhelds. She likes it very much and has taken good care of it. Hope your dd enjoys it as well

So far we haven't planned too much, except to not get stuff made in China We did get DS1 "Wintersmith" by Terry Pratchett. DD wants one of those little "zig-zag" sewing machines. I'll wait for a 40% COUPON! ds2 just wants Godzilla stuff, which than kfully is made in Japan.

I'm really not sure what we're getting! Our house is going on the market and we'll be moving cross country (to Ohio) once it sells. We'll probably end up with a much smaller home because we want something older (1920's era) so I don't want to load up on stuff, kwim?

I have already ordered a few things from Magic Cabin:
a tetherball set (for both kids)
block stilts (a set for each child)
maze books (one for each child at their difficulty level)

I also know that I'll be getting the new "Lego Star Wars" Wii game for my son. We got him a Will system for his birthday and he really wants this new game.

I'm looking at the vanity table from Pottery Barn Kids. My daughter has been wanting one but I'm hesitant to purchase it since I don't know what size her room will be in the next house.

I'm loving everyone's ideas so far!

Oh, and I guess I should add our puppy to the list since my son insisted on buying her a stocking the other day. He insisted on an empty one (instead of those pre-stuffed ones) so that we can see what Santa will leave for a dog. LOL I was at least able to talk him into letting the dog and cat share the stocking!

What is this?

I'm thinking of getting DD some of the manipulatives from Saxon math. I know she'd love playing with a scale & a clock so she'll probably get those, along with a few small gifts. (We only do 3 gifts from Santa)

DS2 will get a puzzle, books & a tool box & chest.

DS (3.5 yrs) and DD (1.5 yrs) are getting a train table, track and a few engines...and they are also getting a play kitchen. They don't really understand "your" toys and "my" toys yet...everything is still communal at this point, and DD loves to play with anything DS is playing with.
