OK Charles was born 11 days ago......

my groin aches, my butt mucles ache, my legs ache (not as bad as the other two) ....

It hurts to stand, it hurts to sit ......

I feel like everything is just gonna coplase .... no strenght, dull ache, throbing ache ......

I don't really remember this with Theo -- i had a 4th degree tear with him and only a 2nd with Charles.

I am very unconfortable, and i know it makes it harder to be a sweet loving AP parent to my tot ... today Mom left and T is having a hard time keeping his hands off C and remembering to be soft (up to today his has had a lot of distraction) .... being tired and achey is not helping me in my GD and AP appraoich to Theo ... I am not horrid, but i know i don't have the emotional and the energey reserve i could have .....

how much longer till this gets better?

any suggestions? I am taking motron 2 or 3 times a day - and have been .... i can tell when i forget, cus it does get worse, but it never goes away.

at least my spinal head ache seems to be gone

Oh, Mama. I'm sorry you're hurting so much.

Can anyone come to the house and give you a massage? Do you have a postpartum herbal bath...or even some epsom salts? They can do wonders for aches. Warm water is my answer for everything...

Arnica tablets may also help...

Birth is hard work! And, challenging to recover from when you're sleep deprived...

Is anyone else coming to replace your mom? You need to be treated like a goddess!

Sounds awful, I am so sorry! I am always so envious of mamas who just jump up after birth as if nothing happened. Of course, that happens when they're young. You're 35 now and (so I am told) we are "older" and not as able to recouperate as quickly.

I would order in some Arnica though. Sounds lke you really need it!

can you take baths? i remember taking tons and tons of epson salt baths for the aches and pains. i have also heard that arnica tablets and cream work wonders

mom is gone till Christams

no one lese areound -- i HATE IOWA

Scott barely stays awake at night till Theo is asleep -- I am up with Chalres later each and every night -- so no massage. anyway -- he is a wimp he doesn't do even a 1/3 way decent job and complain he is tired really fast his massages aren't really worth it.

I think i have arnica in the cabnet -- i will try that.

I have been taking a bath -- to get stiches clean -- each night -- i don't think i have epsion salts, i will look, anything else i can try?

Can you hire a postpartum doula? This is such a tender, important time...

no pp doula -- there are none in the area, heck the doulas around here suck pretty much as it is, and no money any7 way.

I remember aching a lot after my last birth too. I felt great for a few days, then sore achy everything set in.

My best friends were epsom salt baths, motrin, and a heating pad.

You'll feel better soon!

I feel for you... sometimes I feel almost 100% normal and other times I'm achy as all get out and Motrin is my best friend. I can't tell you the last time I took this much ibuprofen. *laugh* It is getting better as the days go by though which is wonderful, it's been a week today since I gave birth. What drives me nuts is that it's not painful in a sharp sense but it's just this dull ache that won't quit. *laugh*

I had those same feelings through the first week. I took tons of arnica montana to help. Sitting was so painful, I was so achey all over and my pelvis felt so out of whack and I had no energy. I couldn't get out of bed without help b/c my ab muscles weren't working very well from having been so stretched out.
Each day, I am feeling better. You will too mama! Hang in there
