What to do? no friends for his party - Page 2

My ds turned three yesterday, and today we had his party.

It was me, dh, our two kids, my parents, my brother. No "friends," though we're all friends. He had a GREAT time, and it was totally stress free for everyone because we didn't have to worry about supervising the kids, breaking up fights over toys, organizing activities, etc.

I seriously think that sometimes kids-free (except for your kid, obviously!) parties are more fun for the adults and the kids when they're still really little.

i would ask at the daycare if for his birthday you could bring in decorations, hats ect. a cake, maybe treats and a small lootbag or just a single small toy. at home have his party cake, balloons & gifts whatever is fitting for your family kids are not needed to make it special and memorable. i have had for my dd family and friends but no kids.

I live in Ottawa so I was wondering if you could invite a few of the daycare friends to Cosmic Adventures to run around- it can be pricey but it would save you from having to entertain everyone. You can also go to one of the museums . For my DS's third birthday there was not a big party and he is an extrovert. Something was done at daycare and I took him to the Nature museum which he loves.
We actually have a membership...so I was thinking of doing this (we also have a membership to the Museum of Sciene and Tech...but I still think he might be too young for a party there.)

Thanks to all of you for your great advice! They will do a party for him at his day care (his birthday is on a Wednesday) so I think that will be fun for him.
I'm thinking I may just invite a couple of friends to Comsic Adventure (indoor playarea) to run around and then come home for a cake.

Thanks again!

Danielle
