I don't want to scare anyone but share our experience. I didn't vax my sons when they were little and always figured we might do some selective/delayed vaxing when they were well over two. I ended up waiting until my son's were 3 and 5 and we were heading to international development work in Africa. Even then we just a got a few specific to Africa and Dtap and Polio, we skipped MMR and others, but I believe they have harmed my older son. After his first vax, he became aggressive with other children and got the worst ear infection of his life within weeks, the first time we had to use antibiotics. After my almost 6 year old's second round of shots, he had a reaction: large red welt, fever, and at first wouldn't respond to our voices in the morning. He had some prior sensory/coordination issues, but they have become so much worse. His attention and behavior have deteriorated. He is stutttering, having working memory and auditory and visual processing issues. This is for a previously highly verbal child. I'm convinced not that the vaccines contributed to the problems. I shutter to think what might have occurred if I had done the typical series of vaccinations when he was a baby. In our case, delaying vaccinations did not prevent the problems I always wanted to protect him from. I so wish I could take back those shots, but you can't. You can never take them back.
