Add me to the broken water club!***quick update

I woke up at 7:30 this morning to a gush of fluid! I'm having ctx's after 5-7 minutes, but trying to rest for now. My birthing tub isn't ready, so I'm laying in bed on my left side for now. Once the tub is ready to go I'll get vertical and try to speed things up. I'm a bit nauseas, but trying to find a good mental place. Of course DH is just home from a 12 hour night shift, so he's fighting sleep to get the pool ready. If he goes to sleep that will be it for him...as in he's a heavy sleeper and he knows that.

This is the first time my water's broke, so I have no idea what to expect...

She's here! A perfect 10-both apgars and weight! I was so expecting a boy!!! Some one make me type out my birth story soon, because I didn't with the first two.

lol i don't know where i got that from...see my post on the water tub/water breaking thread just started... don't worry, its ok mamas.....i just have prego brain and probably it got warped somewhere along the way w/ other mamas or OB/GYNS or even CNM's saying it isn't a good idea due to bacteria/infection...but it isn't a problem my MW says...she's never seen any problems. i'm sorry i didn't mean to scare anyone. i'm just a dummy head.:

Good luck honey! ELV to you!

My midwife said once my water broke not to go into the public pool, but my own tub or shower or the aqua doula at home was ok, cuz it's my germs that I'm used to. FYI. Oh, however, showers are better than sitting in the tub for too long (for pain relief) because that can slow down labor whereas a shower will not as much. In case you're still checking in and wanted to know that

Just as an FYI, it is perfectly fine to enter water after your bag of waters is broken.

Good luck! Thinking of you.

Go, Mama, go! Sending gentle, peaceful birthing vibes your way...

I was told its ok to go into the water after your membranes rupture, just as long as you dont put anything ( ie bubble bath) into the water, and change the water out frequently as it becomes 'flavored' with blood, fluids, etc.

Congrats! Happy laboring!
