Well I'm the odd one out here. I'm having a scheduled c-section at a private hospital.
This is number 3 for us. First was a traumatic forceps delivery after 35 hours of labour. Second was a scheduled c-section. I've also had a vaginal and uterine repair due to damage sustained during labour and delivery of number 1. Thats why I won't be having any more vaginal deliverys - but I have very quick recoveries.
At home, just me and Dh. We're planning to have my daughters (who will be 5 and 3) come in the room towards the end, but I'm hoping my son (who will be about 20 mos) will be asleep and stay asleep, to be woken after baby is out. (If he is awake and needier than I can handle, we have the option to call friends who will come by and take care of him, and bring him back when we call.) Although of course we will play all the kids' by ear! Just easier that way with little ones.
At home with midwife, her assistant, husband. My mom will be here for the kids and I plan on having a friend over with her dh and child to help out as doula support.
I will deliver at home. Current plans are DH, Midwife & her assistant present. If my mother makes it in time, she's welcome to be here as well. DD is going over to MIL's house. I really just want to be "princess" for the day... the fewer the people and distractions the better.
We live in the boonies, so our plan is a bit loose. Also, there is no midwife within a 2 hour drive and I deliver realllllllllly fast.
So, we'll go to the hospital is there is time or UC at home. Or UC on the side of the road while trying to get to the hospital. Meh, maybe we'll just stay home.
