I'm 41 years old. Baby is officially 41 weeks today (saturday). And today (November 10) is actually October 41. My husband thinks 41 is our lucky number, and that baby will be born today! Of course, he's been predicting the imminent arrival of Frijolito since October 26.
We had our first post-date U/S and fluid level check. Baby looks good, though the U/S estimated weight at 9 lbs 5 oz. DD was 7 - 7...how much can those U/S estimates be off, again?
:
Also, we caved when the U/S tech asked us if we wanted to know the sex of the baby. My husband, who has always been the strong proponent for baby sex surprises, apparently is wearied of waiting the surprise that isn't showing up (he's also waiting for an overdue shipment of japanese anime, which I think affects his patience
) Anyway, we said yes and it was pretty obvious - even to my untrained eye. My DH did say, "OH, is that a leg I see?" Yeah, the 3rd leg, I thought.
Anyway, the U/S tech is kind of an artist type and since baby was in THE perfect position to take those cool sepia-toned U/S pics where baby actually looks like a baby (well, OK, baby looks an awful lot like that Kuato character from Total Recall, to be perfectly honest!), the tech took 2 pics and gave them to us on the sly - usually you have to pay for those pictures
:
I want to wonder, "will 41 be our lucky number?" But I'm not feeling the vibe, and I'm trying to just wait patiently...sympathy vibes to mamas (and papas) who are with us in the waiting game...

: I've started going rounds with my OB about what postdates means. "Remember it's plusor minus two weeks from the estimated due date..." We aren't even talking about estimated weights. I really don't want to know until the peanut is out and on a scale. The whole lot of it is just speculation from due date to baby size based on averages. Heaven help you if you aren't average, but perfectly healthy...
