Does "why" drive you crazy?

I'm really curious to know how people feel about the constant why's from their young kids.

I don't think it bothers dp at all. He'll answer question after question, and not sound annoyed in the least.

It drives me crazy sometimes! Ds gets into conversations where practically the only thing he says is "why?" in response to everything said. Sometimes, even his pronunciation of it drives me crazy! "Whiiyeee?" gah!
I understand that it's developmentally appropriate, and I try not to discourage it. I answer to the best of my ability. But after a while, I just want to say "I'm not answering any more why's!!!"

Am I the only awful person who wishes ds would just stop with the why's?

I recently posted about this as I was having the same problem... my head was about to explode. I believe that it was in this particular forum if you want to check it out, I recieved some really good responses.

The why's, the mom, mom, mom, mom's, the repetition all of those get to me.

YESSSSS!!! My 3 year old (he's 3 today! ) just started doing this about a week ago! It MAKES ME INSANE!!!

I try to be patient with him, because I DO want him to be able to ask me anything, any time. It is all trivial stuff now (like why do you have to wipe my butt, why isn't it snowing?)... but someday he'll have more "hard" stuff to talk about... and I hope I am laying the foundation for him now so he can ask me anything.

hehehe I posted in that thread too. oops

I was mainly wondering in this one if it annoys other parents or not. Not really what to do. Just curious if my annoyance is less common than my dp's total non-annoyance, kwim?

Oh goodness no, it's not unusual to feel the annoyance

Since my original post, my beloved boy has stopped saying it so much. It's now 'what, what, what'

Peace
