blood pressure cuff size question

Thread Starter
hi, i was just looking at plussizepregnancy.com and reading about the importance of using the proper size blood pressure cuff. i am not plus-sized, but i like the info on that site a lot.
my issue is, i have really skinny arms. i just measured them and at the thickest part of my bicep they're 9 inches around. the chart from plus-size pregnancy start from a minimum of 11 inches for the standard adult cuff. should my OB be using a smaller cuff? what do the midwives here do for their stick-armed patients??

thanks so much in advance!

There's a range on the cuff that shows too small and too large. I have used a child sized cuff on a mom.

I always measure mom's bicep if I ever question which cuff to use. Especially when you are questioning pre-e, because it makes a difference to be a few numbers off. Cuffs usually specify right on them.
