WTH!!!! my water just broke, too. UPDATE POST 22: SHE'S HERE!

i have been contracting all day but i thought it was prodromal labour because it was a sort of constant, achey crampiness that i've felt many times this last week. basically, as expected i was in denial.

then i had some pink tp and was still in denial.

but then i started feeling like i was peeing myself and finally i'm like, 'uh, maybe i shouldn't be in denial.'

my midwife is currently with heather (HEZZY) and didn't have a whole lot of time to talk about what this means.

i really didn't expect this baby to come early and i reaaaaaallly didn't expect for the labour to start with my waters breaking. it still hasn't been a huge GUSH though -- just two smaller gushes and then a bit of a 'leak' since. this makes me a little worried because even though my m/w is laidback, i still feel like i'm on a timeclock.

i don't know if i should try to speed labor up by walking etc or if i should try to take a nap? advice, mamas? the adrenaline is a little nutty right now.

Definitely take a nap. My water broke, and then I was in limbo for two days. I never had any contractions on my own though. If you are contracting, definitely get some sleep while you can. Worry about speeding things up if you are still not in labor tomorrow.

Oh god, I have no idea..... REALLY Wish I did! Now I am facing the clock and with a fever infection. If a hospital gets ahold of me now..... such a scary idea.

Maybe if I had walked right after and not tried to stay in bed and give everyone else time to sleep I would not be sitting here 18 hours out and still not in labor.

((((((hugs))))))

Sleep, if you can. Weird that you have the same MW as Hezzy! Wow!

Good luck honey!

I would try to get some rest if you can. Don't worry, your body will do it's thing. Baby will come out.
Will be thinking of you. Keep us updated.

Its water breaking day, I guess! I would nap an hour or two at least if you could. With my dd, my water broke and I didn't deliver for 23 hours. (was augmented with pitocin) As the day went on, the contractions got more and more intense and I COULDN'T sleep or rest. I would rest/sleep now, in case you can't later. Even if its just a two hour nap, it will help you have energy for later. I felt AWFUL being awake for 23 hours and then having to push. Then, I couldn't sleep afterwards since dd had some minor issues at birth. I was awake for SO long. Have something to eat, take the rest while you can, and then get your butt walking as much as you can stand! Good luck! Keep us informed!

Congratulations, that is so exciting! You are going to have a baby! I would rest also, because it looks like you might be in labor over the night.

Not in dd but I had to tell you rest while you can, no real time clock unless you are in a hospital or you get a fever or if it isn't clear or smells funky. My water did the same thing for three days before contractions and then it was another 19 hours! Good luck and relax!

not in your ddc (sept ) but REST REST REST.....

my water gushed a tad and then leaed but from first trickle to baby was less than 4 hours. i laid down like my doula told me to and 5 min later i couldn't stand up...

blessings for a great birth

contrax are lasting 30-45secs, and only 3-4 minutes apart.

i guess all the contractions i had during the day WERE early labor and i just wasn't paying attention.

we went for a walk. now i'm going to try to rest up a bit while andy sets up the tub etc. it feels like it's moving a lot faster than i anticipated. but i can still talk (kind of...i tend to keep repeating the same coupla words over and over again and go "um" a lot) while contracting so i figure i gots a long ways to go.
