Birth Ball = Heaven!

I just got one recently and hubby blew it up. Once it didn't smell so toxic I pulled it out to try today and it's heaven!

I sat on it for quite a while and felt great. No pelvic pain, no feeling uncomfortable and needing to shift, no pain or discomfort when I did shift a bit, my feet didn't swell worse while sitting up/sitting forward, and my groin actually feels a bit better after sitting there than when I sit anywhere else.

Thank goodness I finally splurged for one.

Good heavens, woman, what took you so long? After all the trouble you've had getting comfortable! It never even occurred to me that you DIDN'T have one. I'm glad it's working.

The best part is when you have to get up, there's no struggling to the edge of the couch and huffing and puffing to stand. Just bounce on up!

I never had anything during my other pregnancies, this is my last baby and I am on such a tight budget now that I just make due and tend to not want to shell out for anything that's specifically pregnancy. Oh, and the house is so small from what I am used to, I don't know where to put the darn thing when not in use.

But I finally got one and I am using it like crazy. Looking forward to using it when baby is fussy too. I won't ever use it for exercise probably, but my hubby might like doing abs on it someday when I am done.

It's good for fussy babies, yes, but also good for helping them develop head and trunk control! We got our first ball as a therapy tool for our first dc. Our babies loved bouncing on them and trying to maintain their balance as we rolled them around on top on their backs, butts, and bellies.

As for me, I LOVE to sit on the ball and I HATE getting off it because this baby is so low that when I get up, it feels like she's going to fall out. I can't get off the ball and walk without some decent measure of back pain, but the sitting is so comfortable...give a little take a little. It's a million times better than the couch, the hard kitchen chairs, and the padded rocker which just isn't wide enough anymore.
