I am making natural heating pads for christmas presents, so I need to do ALOT of sewing. I loaned my sewing machine out and when I got it back it is not working. I am hoping someone can help me trouble shoot. The needle moves as if sewing but is not creating stitches. It is almost as if it isn't catching the bobbin thred. Any ideas anyone? I'm glad the boards are Back!! I loved all of the homemade gift Ideas. Thanks Clover

Have you tried putting in a new needle? My sewing instructor told us to always try a new needle before bringing it to be checked out. Apparently it is the #1 reason for malfunction.

have you checked the tension?

.. or have you checked that both of the threads are correctly placed? That could cause a problem you're describing.

I have checked the tension. I have threaded and rethreaded the silly machine, including taking the Whole bobbin compartment apart and putting it back together. I will try the new needle. Thanks everyone.
