I'm looking for suggestions for chapter books to read with dd. More everyday, real themes. I'm not
a huge fan of fantasy. Are there any books out there that you read with your children (or yourself)
that you really enjoyed??

Have you read the Wayside School books by Louis Sachar? My 7 yo loves them. They are really, really funny.

My 7 yo loves all of the American Girl books. She also really enjoyed The Children of Noisy Village, My Father's Dragon and the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books. I'm afraid most of her other favorites fall in the fantasy category right now.
