I have been very surprised with my weight gain (or lack thereof!). I thought for sure I'd be one of those mamas who packed on the pounds! I lost 5 lbs in the first tri, and then gained those back +1 as of 21 w. This week (25w) I have gained a total of about 7 lbs, which I think is now averaging out to be about a pound per week which is about right for 2nd/3rd tri weight gain. I'm certainly eating enough . We'll see, I have a feeling my growth will accelerate towards the end which should be lots of fun.

I am in almost the same exact situation! I lost 9lbs in my first trimester and then stayed steady but now I have gained not only the 9lbs but about another 8 more. My eating is a bit sporadic, rather snake like in that I gorge and then don't feel hungry for a few days. I sure am gaining size though!

I don't get sick : so I never lose, just stay the same. I had gained 2 pounds at 16 weeks and then at 25 it was 16 : that just seems like alot!

I'm really not focusing on the actual number because I don't like the emphasis put on weight gain in pregnancy, but I started at about 205 and I'm at about 232 (as of yesterday's midwife appt.) so about 27 lbs in 27ish weeks? Not too shabby. I gained 38 lbs with DS and had lost all that by the time I got pregnant this time.

I'm holding on by my teeth...22 lbs at 28 wks. I gain like a fiend in the 2nd trimester.

Lost 10 to begin with and now at 27 weeks I have gained back 9 of those as my appt yesterday.

My guess is about another 4-5 lbs which will put me at a total of 11 or so, and I'm pretty sure about half of the gain is baby (I've gotten *huge* these past two weeks). I'm trying not to stress about it, but it is nice to see my face fill out a bit since I know I was loosing in the begining even though the scale wasn't moving. Even if I gain another 10-12 lbs, I'm still way better off than I was with my first pregnancy - I'm pretty sure I have gained close to 30 by this point.

THat is how I was with e and I didn't know until I had had him htat I had gained 85 ( I was a size 4 before) I gain alot form now on usually and I don't want to do that again, that is just to much for this lil girl. I lost it all in two years but I know alot of that German food and laying on my ass was to blame that time around:

Yeah if I noticed my weight gain going beyond about 40lbs I'd start seriously watching it and eating with more care

I was slow to gain any weight in the beginning but now I'm up 15 lbs at 28 weeks. Weee! I look huge though.

I weighed myself shortly before pregnancy, and then once during, which was just two weeks ago. I was only up 5lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight with much bulkier clothes on, so I'm assuming that I lost quite a bit during the first tri. My appetite has not been great, either, so I think it's slow going in the weight gain dept. Oh well, I still hadn't lost all of the chub from the last pregnancy 3 years ago, so maybe it'll even out!

I'm 27 weeks and up 1.4 lbs. I figure one of these days the weight will come on already.

26 weeks 9 lbs.

30 lbs at 27 weeks.
I have no idea what happened. I haven't changed anything, excersizing even more than normal.. and I blew up.

I don't have a scale at home, but a few weeks ago I had gained 22lbs at 21 weeks. My next appt with MW is next week and I am sure I have gained cuz maternity clothes now actually fit me around the waist.

I think my last post on a weight thread was before I found out how inaccurate the scale I was using is.

dd recallibrated hers, so that's the one I'm going to trust now, but one thing I've learned is that I worry WAY too much about weight and that UPing doesn't HAVE to include emulating all the nagging and hassles and threats I always got over my weight from midwives.

With Phoenix, I didn't find a midwife until the second trimester, so I just didn't mention the 20 lbs I lost during the first tri from morning sickness and was threatened with transfer if I didn't gain 20 by the birth. I gained 19 and weighed 1 lb less the day I went into labour than the day I conceived her.

With dd, I gained 78 lbs, again threatened with transfer if I didn't stop gaining, and people were taking bets on whether I'd top 200. I weighed 198 the day I went into labour.

With ds, I had much less stress and threats on the weight front and I'm guessing I gained between 20-30 lbs, because that was considered "acceptable" back then.

With this pregnancy, I started at 140 lbs, lost 10 during the first tri, took forever to put it back on, and am now up tom 146 and so tired of caring!

My baby is now measing 27 weeks at 27 weeks (s/he is a former "monster baby" who measured way ahead until recently) and is strong and healthy and doing just fine. Yea, I want to restabilize at 140 before I hit menopause, but I'm just so sick of stressing on it! Things will sort themselves out postpartum some way or another. I was anorexic thin within two weeks of Phoenix's birth and a big, fluffy woman for years after Jeanita's, but eventually (after several years) I was back to being me again which can't be such a bad thing to be considering that when I was the second person in our DDC to post a belly shot, people thought I was NamastePlatypus's age when I'm really old enough to be her mother!

I'll either have my old body back by the time this kiddo is old enough that I have to fill out the homeschooling paperwork or else I'll be comfortable in whatever new body I wind up with.
