Had the 38 week ob appt today and they did a cervical check. They said I'm 2-3 cm dialated but the Dr was really surprised how far back/in it is. I didn't even think to ask about effacement.

I went to bed late and woke up at 4 (courtesy of DH's ignored alarm : ) and didn't get much sleep after that. Didn't have breakfast before the appointment then got Panda Express, while very tasty, added to the feeling of just being ill. I feel like my water could break any second and I'm having mild contractions. More just tightening, but definately not BH. Maybe something is happening... or something.

Sometimes getting checked can irritate things enough to get contractions started. Hmmm...I'm glad everything looked good though.

Maybe. Sure would be nice to have a baby 2 weeks early. I'm not sure I'll ever know what that feels like. But I've been having mild contractions and crampiness for over a week now. So, it could just be your body gearing up and getting ready for the real thing.

I think I've been having mild contractions all night... increasingly more since drinking some cumin tea, having an AWESOME boneless spicy buffalo chicken sandwich (www.flancers.com for anyone ever in Gilbert, it's worth the trip) and walking around the store for a good long time. My girl parts don't hurt, but they're starting to ache a little. Lots of discharge too.

DS is going to sleep in a couple minutes and DH is going to do all he can to help labor get going... possibly for the last time in a while. :

Oooh I might have a baby!!!! DS was born 37w1d weighing over 9 pounds, so I'm getting a little anxious. I haven't actually had to WAIT to go into labor, I wasn't even thinking about it last time!

Still pregnant. I think I was having a ctx about every hour last night, strong enough to wake me up, but nothing doing today. I'll be taking DS over to MIL's house so I can get some things done.

DH asks "So how much sex does it take to start labor? I mean, I know really it's just that once and there's a 9 month delay... "

We had this conversation last night on the way to the birth center. I said that I didn't know sex would cause her to come out so quick and something about how we probably would have had her either way last night, whether there was sex involved or not, that just made it go quicker. Anyway, dh threw in a joke about how actually, sex had to be involved. I was in the middle of a contraction when he said that, and I was smacking him because it hurt too bad to laugh at the same time.

Ugh! How could I do so much walking today and not be having any contractions?!!
