Good doctor!

A 15 yr old girl that I know just had a baby. I asked her b/4 she had the baby if she was going to bf and she said yes. Well, for whatever reason, after the baby was born she decided not to bf. The birth was induced and a little premature, for whatever reason the doc said she was ready to have the baby. Anyway, at the baby's first checkup, I think at about 1 week, the ped said the baby was not gaining enough weight and that she needed to bf. So... she is bfing the baby and I think it is great that the ped said that. So many times it is the other way around. I just though I would share b/c it makes me very happy that the baby is thriving off mamma's milk!

What a lucky baby. For that matter, what a lucky mom. I hope she sticks with it for a long time. It probably wouldn't hurt to remind her of how much money she's saving on formula.

Thanks so much for sharing this. It gives me hope. I do not often hear stories like this.

As a former teen mother, it warms my heart to hear this! Teen mamas are too often just told what to do and don't even think twice to question it, and most of it is mainstream stuff anyhow.
