After 2 weeks of false labour, my third daughter was born this morning at 3:20 am. Was having erratic contractions, a couple on top of each other, then nothing for an hour or so all night, when at 12:45am went to the washroom and saw bloody show. Called the midwives, since that is on the list of call right away, and then it felt like my water broke. Midwives came out about 1:30. I was having some good contractions by this point and wanted to get in the birth pool. Kylene my primary wanted to know if I wanted to get checked first. I wasn't sure, saying if I was only a two or something I would be disappointed. She checked me and I was at an 8 or so. definitely not fake this time! I got in the pool and it felt great. DH and a student midwife had to top it with some boiling pots of water after our hot water tank was empty and it really helped. Don't know what the odds are but...Callie was born after three minutes of pushing with nuchal hands(hands on her face delivered with her head.) The funny thing is..both my other girls were born with nuchal hands too! She was 7lbs 7oz 21.5 inches long. It was a wonderful birth and of course, so wonderful to be tucked up in my own bed after and relax with DH and Callie. Love the waterbirth side effects, no tearing no stitches! The girls were very surprised by the new person in bed in the morning. Hope everyone else has as peaceful a birth. It is the first time I can say I felt calm and relaxed after, no stress just peace...it was great!

Edited to add pictures...found out the student midwife who helped out, filled tub held my back and took pictures...it was her first birth! How neat! I have to say, Because I felt so comfortable with the midwives and the student who came, the energy was so positive...after two traumatic births, this rocked!
