Crohn's disease caused by cow's milk?

Interesting article. No mention of how long it takes to develop Crohn's/IBS after exposure to the MAP bug... but then we've always known breastfed babies are less likely to have these troubles later in life...

Interesting article. I thought the recommendation to people with Crohn's/IBS not to quit drinking milk but to drink the ultra-pasteurized shelf-stable UHT milk was a little silly - kinda like shutting the barn door when the horse is already out.

Wow! I can't wait to hear more about this "discovery." I have ulcerative colitis (same disease as Crohn's, but affecting a different part of the colon, usually less severe than Crohn's). Despite much pushing from me, doctors repeatedly state that there is no connection between diet and the disease. By myself, I decided to go vegetarian and eat very little dairy (no milk at all)--and (knock on wood) I've had no symptoms since, though I do take preventative medication. Can't wait to hear more, as I said. It's always baffled me that no literature on these diseases talks about the fact that breastfeeding greatly reduces risks of these diseases. Why not? Drives me nutsy. And no, sadly for me, I never received a drop of breastmilk as a little one. But my daughter only drinks breastmilk and soy milk (she's 2).
