Hello!

I don't get to post much, but I was wondering if you all could make me feel less conflicted. I will be having a VBAC in April (perhaps even an HBAC). I have been drinking RRL tea (1 tsp in 1 cup of water/steeped 30 min/since my second trimester started). I am really excited that this *may* help my labor (I know there are no guarantees), especially since my labor went so bad last time. However, buried deep within the RRL tea tribe thread, there was a tidbit about someone who knew a herbalist who thinks he went blind because of RRL tea (I am paraphrasing, and I know it sounds crazy out of context, but I'm pretty sure I read it right). Something about the tea dissolving natural scar tissue that you need in the back of your eye, and the herbalist warned her not to use it because of what he is pretty sure it did to him, and because he had heard it can dissolve scar tissue (none of this could be verified exactly, but this person totally trusted her herbalist). So NOT what I wanted to hear if I am drinking the tea and going for a VBAC. It seems so many people use it without problems, but it would just make me feel even better about drinking it if I could collect my own non-scientific data. I'm not over the top worried about the herbalist story, but it makes me kind of uneasy, especially if I do go for an HBAC and am not at a hospital. Anyway, thanks for taking part in my poll! Also, if you drank the tea and have a chance, feel free to post how you drank it (how strong/how many times a day/how many trimesters, etc.) Thanks again!

I drank mass amount of red raspberry leaf tea starting after 34 weeks, and i began evening primrose oil vaginally and orally starting at 37 weeks. I delivered 5 days after beginning the EPO VBAC in a hospital. I think it worked really well. I went from closed and hard to soft and dialted to 6 without really any contractions in 5 days.

HUH?? First off, never heard of RRL dissolving scar tissue. I can't help you there. But "natural scar tissue that you need in the back of your eye"...?! That's nuts. Everything I've ever heard of re: eyes and scar tissues is not good. And my DH is legally blind.
