I didn't really understand how pointless/damaging circing was until after my daughter was born. Thankfully she was a girl, because if she had been a boy, he probably would have been circumcised. I seriously thought that they just snipped off a pointless flap of skin.
All that to say-- I asked a few people about circing before I knew she was a girl, and they all just said, "Oh, yeah,everyone does it, it's no big deal." I would so have appreciated someone who actually knew what they were talking about and tried to convince me otherwise (I would have been an easy convert

) So, to the intactivists (and to the OP, if you have any influence), always explain your position-- emotional appeals probably wouldn't have gotten to me, but the medical information definitely would have (and has).
