staying positive

okay, my end-of-month-EDD, still-pregnant cohorts: what are some things that you're telling yourself these days to feel better when you get down in the dumps?

i've been thinking:

- in a month, i will definitely have my baby in my arms.

- i'm so glad that i've had a little extra time to (enjoy my friends, have some quiet time, get the laundry done, check more things off my checklist, prepare the baby's x, rest).

- i'm so lucky to have people in my life who care about me so much that they're excited about meeting my child and can't help but ask if it's time yet.

- everything that's making me uncomfortable right now is a sign that labor is coming and i'm well on my way.

I've been thinking:

-that I should be looking forward to the birth more. Its an experience that's very profound and powerful and not every woman is so lucky to birth healthy babies.

- although I know that labor isn't easy, I look forward to the relief and exhilaration that come with birthing the new baby.

- that its not all about ME. I am a vessel for which the new life comes thru and I shouldn't complain and worry so much about my own pain and discomfort.

Thanks for this positive thread, I needed it today!

And I want both of you and all the other mamas still waiting that those of us with babes in arms are still thinking of you and wishing you all the best. I'm still checking in every day and trying to keep up with posts.

The positive things you are listing sound great!

I am telling myself:
~she can't stay in there forever
~she will come out when the time is right
~maybe I can finish the dang laundry before she arrives

That's all I got.

For me:

-Pregnancy is relatively easy: no swelling, no back pain, still sleeping, not too much of an odd walk...
-Every moment the baby is inside is more time for her to be nourished, get into good position, and prepare herself to be born well
-This is my last (and only) pregnancy, so I should enjoy the last bit of it
-I still need to bake my daughter her birthday cake!

That's refreshing. I need to try and remember this one! Hard to do.

Just don't tell my husband or kids this isn't all about me
