I was at the grocery store yeseterday and my exclusively breastfed 9 month old daughter got hungry. I went to the exit of the store where there are benches and they were filled with two elderly ladies and an elderly man. There was space on the end of the one bench so I sat there and proceeded to attempt to discreetly nurse my daughter. They didn't say anything, just kept chatting. When I was done I stood up and the old man said to me, "Good for you Mom! Good job! We're all proud of you!" It was so nice! I have never gotten that kind of support in public before especially not now that she's 9 months and big so she looks more like 12 months. Too cool!

My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...

This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...

This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Right on!!! That's wonderful.
I had a positive NIP experience yesterday in a department store at the mall. I went down to the restroom b/c many of the dept stores have a nice sitting area in the women's room. This one does not, but they have two uncomfortable chairs outside the restrooms. So we nursed there. It's a high traffic area right next to customer service. An older female employee stared at me as she went into the restroom. I knew she was going to say something when she came out, so I was trying to think of a good response. I was expecting a negative comment, but instead she told me that she was so glad to see me "do right by my baby." Said she knows that nursing can be challenging at times, and she was embarassed that the store didn't have a nicer place for me to nurse. It made my day!

I wasn't NIP but I did bring up EN'ing at work a few weeks ago - a bunch of us were waiting for one of the microwaves and one of the women was pregnant. The other women let her go in front of them because "it's for the baby". I told them that I was a bf'ing mama and asked if I could go next (
) and when I told them that dd was almost 16 months old one woman said "Good for you! My mother breastfed me until I was 5 years old and too many women today just grab the Similac and don't even try to breastfeed. It's a shame!"
