After Pains -- WOW

Day three for me with baby and I am in pain. All my midwives told me to take is tylenol, 2 every 4 hours. It is NOT enough, infact I swear the pain has gotten worse. What can I do? How long with this last? How could I have had almost a silent birth and yet be such a big baby about this?

OUCHY!

I really had them badly this time too.. even to the point of waking me up in pain.. I was surprised they were so bad this tme.. they got a lot better on day 5/6// day three and four were by far the worst... you're almost there, hang in there

Can you stagger the Tylenol with ibuprofen-? I know ibuprofen seems to work better for me than Tylenol. Hope you feel better soon!

No freakin kidding! I thought I was prepared but I swear they hurt worse than most of my contractions. I did Ibuprofen and arnica but I really had to stay on top of it. It got a LOT better on day 5/6 like Laura said- hang in there!

Is your milk in yet? Mine got substantially better once it was.
I'm sorry they hurt so bad!

It is coming in, enough that baby spit some up on me. I hope it gets better soon, my mood is starting to suffer from it.

My dr said Motrin or tylenol. I also use a binder around my stomach for a few days, or until it stops helping. A heating pad and a hot bath also make me feel better.

I was also told to take ibuprofen or tylenol - they helped, but definitely did not eliminate them. Mine got better by day 4 or 5 - hang in there!

I've taken 800 mg of ibuprofen every 6-8 hours today. There is no reason you can't take it. Not sure why your mw's said that. Tylenol definitely wouldn't be cutting it here. I can tell when it's been close to 8 hours. I start to get miserable, almost like being in labor again. I'll be sending dh down to get me drugs in the middle of the night since I had it last about 4 hours ago.

I bled so much during labor and after I would have been afraid to take anything to relax my ute.. I was happy to be in terrible pain from them.. it let me know I was clampin down.. I don't take anything for pain (I would literally have to be on the floor writhing for a long time to consider it) none of the stuff "agrees" with me at all so it's just not worth it to me... hopefully you guys don't have that prob and can get some relief...
