Doulas: what's on your business card? brochure?

I am scrambling to put these together as I just attended my training and already have a couple of clients potentially lining up! yay yay!

I get that I need my name and title and contact info on the business card. I am trying to come up with a couple of sentences of an overview...what I have so far is "I am ALACE trained and offer labor support in the greater ABQ area." I am also in the process of doing some breastfeeding training, but have no official title like bf'ing counselor, and am doing the ALACE CBE training, but again, am not certified or anything. I'd like a sentence that reflects I probably know more than the average bear about those types of things without including credentials I don't have.

For my brochure I have a column about me and my philosophy, the advantages of having a doula (stats), an FAQ column, and what doulas do and don't do. Then my cover. So I have room for one more column. What else is good to include?

thanks!

What about:

I am a trained doula, certified by ALACE, offering labor support in the greater ABQ area. I have also been educated in the areas of Breastfeeding and Child Birth.

A recommended reading list? A referral list to other businesses you recommend in the area? I have never done a brochure though so I'm not sure I should be responding. I just did cards and a website since everyone around here seems to ask pretty quickly "do you have a website?"

When I finished the ALACE doula training, the instructor suggested to all of us that we simply put our name, contact info., and "professional doula services" on the business card until we were certified. Then you could put "ALACE certified" under the professional doula services line.

As for my brochure, my husband is in graphic design and marketing, so he found awesome images of moms and babes to fade out in the background. As for content, the cover of course, then one panel of a service overview, one of FAQ, and a third describing my CBE class series. The back panel just says something like, "If you would like more information on my services as a doula, or would like information on the next childbirth class series, please feel free to contact me at....."

I like what 636Jen said about the business cards and I think the brochure that happyartmama seemed perfectly informative and interesting. I suggest developing a simple flyer, as well. The flyer can be used to post in public places (libraries, colleges, coffee shops) and tucked into informational folders that are handed out at doctors offices and baby supply stores.

My flyer has a photograph I took of a pregnant mama, my contact information, quick facts about how doulas can help (in bullet form), and a sentence about myself.
