Undergrad & teaching credential: University of California, San Diego

Master's: Cal State University, Fullerton

On the subject of whether or not the money/time of college/post-grad is worth it (and maybe this is better as a S/O), why not ask why the need for so much college and money to be spent in the first place in order to do the various things everyone does? Why not apprenticeships in the area of interest? Because when I look at the time spend doing my BA and my credential and my MS, really, I didn't learn much of anything that actually furthered me in my career of the time. For teaching, I learned more from talking with other teachers, experimenting in the classroom, and attending an occassional day-long conference in a subject of interest than I ever did in 7 years of schooling (and many, many thousands of dollars in tuition/books).

Man, we're some well educated be@tches!

I chose 4 year, cause it wouldn't let me choose 2 year & 4 year & + some. I have an associates in Letters, ARts & Sciences, a Bachelors in communication (no "s" thank you very much!) and I'm halfway to a second bachelors in soc. No, thank you! I don't want to go right to the masters, I have a serious school problem, and I like the path I'm on now!

I really miss college. Not the going out, beer drinking partying college days (okay, very occassionally I miss those too!) , but I actually miss the classes. Someday I'm going to go back, probably not to college, but maybe herbalism classes.

Well, I'm an RN but didn't end up with a BSN, a few credits short on that one, so I have an ADN. I'd love a Master's, and will get it someday. I truly love college, and could of gone for many more years but we wanted DC. I'm just not that together of a mom to go to school and be a mom, I tried to get the credits I needed when DD1 was a baby, that lasted for two classes.

I dropped out of hs in 11th grade (because I was pregnant), got my GED, attended college for about 6 months and dropped out. I went back to school after a 5 year break and I will be finishing my AA this semester and then going on to start working on my BA in religious studies.

I have an Associate of the Arts degree in English.

I do not have a high school diploma.

I am not a high school dropout because I never went to high school. I dropped out of Junior High. No, it wasn't legal.

I was working on a second AA degree in Sociology (because the tuition is MUCH less at community college than University) when my miracle happened and I decided to wait a bit longer before I start chipping away at it again. Besides, dd doesn't have her AA yet and I really should save the money for her education.

I've earned my bachelor's and my master's degrees, but I have also completed the coursework for my doctorate. I wish I could finish, but that's unfortunately not going to happen.

About two months before graduation I was in a car accident. It was the final thing in a long long list of things that put me over the edge and I took the rest of the semester off...and never went back (met husband, got married, made huge move). I regret not finishing after all that time, effort, and money (which I'm STILL paying back, tyvm) but the idea of going back to school makes my bones itch. I don't think I could sit through so much unnecessary BS twice.

I have a BJ (bachelor journalism) and a minor in Political Science. I would love to go for a masters someday, though I'm not sure if I would do it in Journalism, Gender Studies or International Law.
