So one of the things I was totally dreading after the baby came was the first PP BM. I wasn't nearly as sore this time around as I was after Isaac was born, but things are still a bit tender down below and I have some stitches....even sitting on the toilet made everthing feel a bit stretched and sore.
The weird thing I discovered is that if I sit on my son's Baby Bjorn Potty topper, it is *SOOO* much easier to go to the bathroom, especially #2. I think it's because the smaller hole creates less downward pressure on the pelvic bowl than a standard size toilet opening does when you sit. ???
Anyhoo...weird but true. It really helps. I would totally recommend trying it!
If you don't already have kids, your dp might think it's crazy when you come home with a toddler's potty seat, but I swear by it!
I am only sharing this bizarre fact in the hope that it might help another mama get over her postpartum soreness a little more easily.
