I meant to mention in my post that A Prayer for Owen Meany is a life-changing book. I seriously think of my life differently before I read that book, as opposed to how I lived after that book. I don't know what about it touched me so much, but it's fabulous. John Irving (in my mind) has two 'types' of books - Cider House Rules, APFOM, and World According to Garp I loved, then there were his other's which I couldn't stand - A 58 Pound Marriage, Setting Free the Bears, some others. I don't know.
The Glass Castle is a memoir, and it's heartbreaking. The woman who wrote it, Jeanette Walls, is now a news correspondent for a major network, so it's a success story in the end. But her family life growing up was tragic - her mom is bipolar, and chooses to be homeless. Jeanette grew up living in boxes, never having enough food, being laughed at for her shabby, smelly clothes - and yet somehow never felt anger towards her parents, and has this absolutely wonderful outlook on life. It's really fabulous.
I also am a Harry Potter fanatic, for anyone who hasn't read that series yet.
Take care!

One of my favorite parts is the Christmas Play. OMG. Tears streaming down my face. Oh, I'm so excited

I should pick it up again, all these years later.
