Is baby distressed? (UPDATES: Water broke, in labor??)

I posted earlier that for well over two hours babe was really moving and burrowing and hurting my stomach and cervix. It's started again.

I just had a thought that's got me worried - Do you think baby is distressed? I mean, this is really uncomfortable and kind of hurts and keeps going on and on.

****(updates below in many posts, but apparently baby wasn't distressed, he was just wiggling into my pelvis or something to get ready for the events ahead! I am SO sorry, Maisiedotes and other mamas. I thought for sure you all would beat me to it!)****

It's probably fine...sounds like this baby and her sister before her.

Oof...hiccups. She's getting big. What happened to the little hiccups?

I wouldn't assume so necessarily, sometimes babies are just a little wonky in there.

HOWEVER, if this is setting off warning lights for you then I would definitely have a NST done just to be sure. They say mommy instincts are the best gauge of whether or not things are OK. Any MW or Dr. will tell a mama to come in right away if they feel like things "just aren't right." Its seriously known to be one of the most reliable indicators of a problem. So, the only advice I can give tis to listen to yourself!

Also, if the movements seem "frantic" to you at all this is considered a major warning sign and experts recommend calling in right away.

Again, its probably nothing, but I'm just trying to cover all the bases...

Your worried so I would call.

Libby was very active the night her water broke. Turns out she had a full knot in her cord! If I had been forced to push it could have killed her. She had to do things her own way to be ok.

((((Hugs))))

Silas got very active in weird ways about a week before he was born. It didn't seem panicky, just active so I figured he might just be getting settled into a better position. And he got even more active right before labour began.

But if you think baby seems a bit out of sorts, it wouldn't hurt to call your HCPs to see about an NST.

Update

I may be leaking amniotic fluid. I was not expecting that at all. And it WOULD figure if I go into labor tonight because I am supposed to be picking my mom up like an hour away at the airport by 10am or so.

BUT, this was possibly a tiny leak as I was washing up. It may seal up again. I am going to go watch a movie with my man and just relax. Tonight would NOT be a good night. My mom's coming and my floors are not swept yet

But BOY you should have seen my husband's eyes when he heard I might be leaking. I wish I had a picture! We had JUST been talking about how this is what the baby felt like the night of the last full moon and how in just over a week is my predicted time PLUS the next full moon. When I went, "Oh. Oh. Oh that was fluid. I think I am leaking."

*snort*

Oh, um, yah. Definitely leaking. No cxs yet though. Baby just moved a little so that makes me feel better. I am leaking a few tablespoons every few minutes.

I feel guilty. I know some mamas wanted this way more than me right now.

And I REALLY would have liked to sleep first. Not sure how to sleep right now. Cxs are painful enough, but only sporadic. I am a little wired, but perhaps getting tired enough to try to sleep. Not sure how hubby's doing with sleep, but told him to skip the movie and get some sleep.

I'm suddenly hungry too.

Hum.... sounds like what happened to me. If you want to try and sleep, though I know you do not like that option, try a hot bath? Baths are ok as long as tub is clean I was told. Or a glass of wine to slow things down so you can rest first.....

Just want you to be rested for one heck of a ride!

All I have in the house is gluten free beer (yuck) as I hadn't picked up a bottle of wine for the birth yet! And no baths. HATE baths and have a hard time getting in and out.

I just wrote this in the HB forum:

Thing is, it's my first homebirth so now I am just sort of sitting around twiddling my thumbs wishing I could sleep and wondering what to do. No car to pack, no sleeping kids to carry, no one to really call or tell or see. No hospital to go to.

I'm bored I guess!

I am going to go try to sleep again. No need to be wasting energy and looking for attention when most everyone is sleeping!!

Well I hope your sleeping, I know I should be. But I wanted to wish you good labor vibes in case I'm not on again until after your baby comes!

I am up yet again

Thinking of you! It is odd to not have all the rushing to hospital stuff going on. Took me a while to settle into it. I remember nesting and good thing to with all those people in my house!

Goodness am I always starving now. I wish I would have thought to have easy fast finger food to munch on. Not really sure what I am craving right now.
