OK- that page was interesting, so I will now try 1 tsp of cumin dissolved in a cup of hot water with a 1/2 inch cube of potato at the bottom. AND if it is gross i will sweeten it up with honey.

I took it to mean whole cumin. That's a trip about the potato... wish I hadn't just mashed the last of mine now! Anyhow, I've been doing the tea with whole cumin and its actually quite pleasant... not going to even think about ground because I don't have any and my only option is a mortar and pestal and I am just not THAT anxious.

My water broke a couple hours before contractions with DD and I used cumin tea to help things along. Not sure if it worked...but I can say that I have no worry that it didn't. Something got things going.

I used either 1 tsp or 1 T of cumin and hot boiling water. No potato (not sure how that helps). The cumin I used was ground and not fresh by any means.
