It seems to me that in this DDC there is an unusually high percentage of labors starting with the waters breaking... I don't remember exactly what the usual percentage was...something like 10-30%, but I just keep seeing over and over "my water broke"

I agree, I think it is only like 10% or something usually yet we have had a *lot* of posts like that. Maybe it's sometimes hard to tell though, like if you're crampy and having some B-H and don't know if it's labor or not, then your water breaks so then you know it's labor and it seems like the water breaking was the start... but really you were subtly laboring before...

??? Just a theory.

I'm glad to hear that statistic, cause not only do I keep reading about waters breaking here but many of my friends with kids have also had that happen to them as the beginning of labour. So much so that I was starting to feel weird since my water has broken when I started to push both times.

i have often thought the same thing...how ironic is that, all these waters breaking right off the bat. mine didn't with megh...it was eventually broken for me... sigh... now i keep hoping i'll get this big gush but i have a feeling sheamas' head is like a big cork down there so maybe i won't get so lucky... hmmmm. this not knowing 'when' and 'how' it goes down is sooo frustrating!!!
