Baby and I going to get a brow wax

Well, she is just gonna watch. I feel like a mess, home alone, have not washed my hair in 3 days. My friend is also my beautician. Baby and I are loading up, going to her little one room studio and she is gonna wax my brows and wash my hair and I can be free to not worry about 50 people milling around the big salon while I have a new baby to feed and juggle.

Hoping that helps my mood.

At first I thought you were already concerned about Delainey's grooming. Glad her brows are under control.

Conrad already has fuzzy shoulders... just like his Daddy.

i loved getting pedicures when dd was little. she would sleep in a sling or nurse. i wish i'd taken advantage of her immobility a little more

Sounds like fun! Glad to hear you are getting out of the house. Maybe I should do something like this. I totally didn't take advantage of DD's immobility the first few months either, largely cause I was totally paralyzed by fear myself. Course now I need to figure out what to do with the toddler...

Enjoy! It's so important to do these things, I know men probably don't understand it but it makes a huge difference! I'm still enjoying my last pedi... I got sparkly blue toes a few weeks ago and even though it took all my effort just to get to the place, I get happy every time I see my sparkly toes

Well it sounded like a good idea. I must have forgotten I felt like hell, had not slept, etc. I load up DD, we make the 10 min drive, park, and she poops. So we walk into the Starbucks that was right there, no changing table. I sit on the floor, lay her on my legs, and change her. Already regretting my trip out, stitches hurting. Before I get diaper back on she pees, on her clothes, blanket, me. There was another outfit in the bag and was huge and akward. I put it on her and clean up. I decide to grab coffee on the way out and have then add ice to it so if I spill, baby wont be burned. So I walk to the studio, with pee on my leg, and akwardly dressed baby, and luke warm coffee. I get there, plunk down in the chair, set the coffee on the floor next to the chair and relax. I then get up to sit in the chair to get all fixed up, and Lynn, my hair guru, scoots the chair and spills coffee all over the floor. She waxed my brows and every other pregnancy hair issue on my face, washed and styled my hair, all while baby snoozed on my chest. She didn't charge me, bless her heart. I got back to the car, baby needed to eat, I nursed her, she pooped, I changed her n the car, another mess, back in carseat, fussed on way home, and I was done for the day. STitches hurt, felt like I had run a marathon, world was spinning.

Time spent at salon: 37 minutes
Distance to salon: 5 miles (10 minutes tops in traffic)
Total trip time: 2 hours and 41 minutes

What the hell was I thinking?

Man, do I HATE restrooms with no changing tables. I'm surprised that Starbuck's is not better about that. There is a special place in hell for anyone who lets a restaurant get away with not having a changing table.

Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy the results of your visit for a few weeks, even though the outing itself was not what you'd hoped for.
