How late is too late to babywear? - Page 2

That's not late at all!! I thought you were going to say you had a 5 year old! At 5 months, you should be able to put your child in anything you want to try. I like mei tai's and SSC's (carriers with buckles) since that way they are sitting up and can look around.

Not too late at all. In fact ds was 5 months when I started too. I feel like I missed out on months of wearing him, but we have a blast with in now! He is almost 7 months and loves being in the wrap. I bought a Hoppediz wrap because I'll be able to use it as he gets bigger. If I remember correctly, MilkTrance, your a Canadian mama right? Me too...I bought mine at Pooka Baby. A wrap has a learning curve for sure, but once you get it right it feels like heaven. I can't vouch for the back carry yet though....but I'm going to work on it.

This thread inspired me... I just put my almost 50lb 5.5yo on my back in a Girasol and my 20lb 16mo on my front in another Girasol. We danced around a bit until my back couldn't take 70lbs of kids anymore. The kids thought it was great fun! We'll have to do it again when there' someone to take a pic for me to send to my friend who teaches baby carry classes.

I carried both of them out of the hospital in a wrap/scarf as well and the hospital wasn't thrilled with it, but I used to work there so they didn't say anything. Actually, the nurses didn't care, it was the unit secretary who kept saying "she can't do that! It's against the RULES!"
