My daughter is struggling with eczema and her doctor had us go gluten free for 3 weeks to see if it would help (she also has strange poop - varies between super soft, watery, crumbly, gritty, and always very very smelly).
Her eczema so far has mostly manifested itself as huge hives/welts that itch (they called it nummular eczema).
She has been off gluten for a week, and she didn't break out the first three days, and now she is breaking out again, but this time they are small red dots, not big swollen looking welts.
I didn't know if there was any sort of "typical" reaction to getting off gluten - like if the body kind of goes through a break out period while it cleanses - or if there is just sort of immediate improvement if it is the root of a problem.
Her poop has gotten much more normal, so that is interesting...it was really really awful. (she is almost 3).
Thanks!
