Who else will be wearing... - Page 2

I had just one mai tai with DS #1 - worked wonderfully. I didn't nurse much with it (nor tried); I just sat with him or held on to him while on the move!

I think I will make a homemade Moby for this one in addition to the mt...partly b/c my mt is made with courdoroy and heavy canvas, and that sounds hot for summer....

I may see if I can get a friend to loan me the sling I bought her!

We wore DS, and plan to wear this little guy as well. We have one Maya Wrap, and an Ergo. We may get one more Ergo as it is our carrier of choice, and may want to be able to carry both boys for certain events, hikes, etc.

I have so many slings from ds. I already have 2 WAHM ring slings, mei tai, hmong style carrier, and ergo. I've already purchased a moby and pouch for this lo. But my favorite is still my first ever sling- my maya wrap.

I have a momma made ring sling and mei tai already .. would love to get a moby wrap and an ergo .. really want both of those so i can take ds places and feel secure with a newborn in a carrier

I've still got some from dd, and I only wear a few because I really love them. I have my moby, which i love in the beginning, and my ergo for when she is older. I'm going to be selling the mammas milk aloha/fire sling I just got because dh said he'd wear it if it were a different print (hula girls are just not his thing lol) and I'll get a hotsling instead. And once I'm back to my normal shape I'll make another sling myself.

We will be wearing our baby for sure!!

I'm really looking forward to it.

I have a large pouch sling that I made over a year ago, but it's too deep for a wee babe.

I am buying a Mama Kangaroo Wrap tonight from a lady here in my city.

They are made by a Canadian company and I know three local mom-ladies who swear by them.

I still need to measure DH. I will try to make him one myself, and I will also buy one from Hotslings.

I'll get an Ergo too.

We have a FABULOUS stroller too! An Emmaljunga convertable with chrome, leather and canvas! (got it used for a steal)

We don't have a car, and we walk to get our groceries and supplies, so wearing baby 100% of the time might not be possible when we are loaded with bundles. Plus, we can use the stroller to carry the stuff and keep wearing the baby!

LOL-that is what my stroller was for, lugging all the stuff while I wore dd! She was much easier to carry strapped to my chest and push all the grocery bags, then the other way around! I'm only buying a stroller this time for going to disneyworld (we live close), but to be honest, it's because DD has a lovely imaginary story she tells me all the time about how she will sit in the stroller and hold her brother while dh and I push them around. It's just too cute, so I gotta buy one-even if it only happens once!

I made dd a sling for our kitten...

I've only had one sling at a time. I love wearing my baby!! I had an Over the shoulder baby holder which is a padded ring sling. It was falling apart when it grew legs. I then bought a mama made sling. I don't love it, but it is certainly functional. One weekend I left my sling at home and we were out of town so I bout a tye dye sheet and carried DD in that. Oh the looks. I'd like to make to slings out of that. I also want a mei tai and a wrap, but money is tight, so we shall see.

Kara, wraps are easy to make! You could even make one out of that tie-dyed sheet, probably. Here's a link with great instuctions on choosing fabric and making a wrap.

I have:

-a homemade mei-tei, which is great
-a ring-sling that I love - works for little babies held close to the chest and for toddlers in a hip carry!
-a Kelty kid-carrier backpack
-an REI kid-carrier backpack

The last two are what my husband and I used for long hikes with our two older kids; one fits my husband better and one fits me better. We LOVE those for our toddlers, and they love being up high and being able to see everything while we hike! You can even get sunshades for them, which we found really useful in the summer.

I have a hotsling, a WAHM pouch sling, 2 mei teis (one with extra wide straps that I really love), a wrap and a ring sling or two. My only trepidation is that I dropped my 2 year old while trying to get her into a sling at the grocery store when she was like 10 weeks old. She wasn't hurt at all (landed on her bum and I mostly caught her. I still slung her after that but I tended to lean more toward wraps and things where I just felt more secure.

I don't think I have enough yardage to do a wrap with the sheet. It looked great as a make shift sling, so I was thinking of doing the RS thing. I'm not afraid of my sewing machine. I just need time LOL. Besides I want a baby wearing stash! I loved wearing Abby so much. I miss wearing her. I need to get a toddler carry. She prolly wouldn't go for it though. Silly little girl wants to WALK everywhere LOL

Trinitty ~ thanks for that link. Those do look like nice wraps. They are close to me so I may just get one. Love the look of them.

I really want to wear this baby. With ds, I had two carriers store bought and couldn't use either b/c he was born with clubfeet so required full leg casts and then a bar worn with shoes attached 23 hours a day. So it just wasn't possible.
I'm thinking of getting a hotsling or one called Little Star Baby Sling but still researching. Seems like there are so many types and varieties; gets confusing!

We adored our ring slings (1 cotton homemade by a friend, 1 Maya) with ds and didn't really try anything else except a total of 3-4 hours in a Bjorn we were given.

This time I'm excited about my new Moby wrap -- just tried it out with my 3 week old niece and I can tell it will be great for the first months, at least.

I also want a couple pouches. I'm thinking maybe a fleece for the cold times and a hotsling too. Great idea to add them to my Xmas list... Will also borrow an Ergo from a friend to try out.

I have a maya wrap from my first dd as well as an Ergo (love it!). For this new babe, I purchased a hotsling and will also get a moby.

I honestly thought I was the only one with multiple slings. Around here NO ONE wears there baby! I have about 10 pouch slings I made when dd was still riding in one!! She suddenly started throwing fits about it as soon as I got pg (before I even knew)!

We will be wearing our baby too!! I have a Hot Sling, a DIY wrap and a mei tai my friend gave me. Today I ordered a Didymos! I am excited for that to come.

We will be wearing our babe too. So far I only have a Moby wrap. I want to get a whole bunch more, but I need to narrow it down. I definitely want an Ergo, a woven wrap, mei tai and ring sling. And maybe a pouch.

I have

maya wrap ring sling
new native pouch
kozy carrier
ergo
babytrekker
hotsling mesh pouch (for next summer, at the beach)

I would like to get another pouch and a wrap. Not sure what type/kind yet. I think I want an adjustable pouch though.

I also want to get a kindercoat. I can still wear/zip-up my regular winter coats. However, it is probably a bit naive to think they are going to last me for the next 3 months. I should probably just get a kindercoat now..

I already have:

a mai tai
a ring pouch
an Ergo

I used these with DD and like them all. I'm going to use them once DS gets here, too. I think I'm going to buy a wrap, too, though. That should complete my collection.
