Need help with finding food allergy

I'm conserned tha my DD might have a food allergy. She's 7 weeks old.
She seems like shes always constipated. Usually has little streak poops in her diaper a real poop every 2-3 days. I thought it could have been too much iron because I was taking a prenatal plus an iron pill (due to pp hemerage) I forgot to take them for about 3 days and then she seemed happier and less constipated thats when I thought it could have been that so I continued not taking them, its been about a week, but shes back to being constipated. When shes pooping or trying to she screams. seems like I try everything, nothing really helps. Shes been colicy since she was born at first it was everynight for 3 hours and now its been just every day no certain time for 1-2 hours. It's like a bad stomach ache and she just screams in pain. She will have projectile vomit at least once every other day. I've tried giving her gripe water for the colic and it usally makes her feel better after a few minutes, but then 75% of the time it will also make her projectile vomit. Her bottom also sometimes looks red.
I looked on the allergy symptom thread and it looks all allergy related. I thought I would start a elimination diet, but I'm not sure where to begin. Should I just eliminate everything or one at a time? What is left that is safe to eat? How long do I eliminate the foods for?
I'm just feeling stressed out and depressed, feeling like a bad mom because it seems like she is always crying and I feel like I can't do anything to make her feel better.
Thanks in advance

Personally, I started with eliminating just dairy (but all dairy, even trace amounts) before moving on to a total elimination diet. Since dairy allergies/sensitivities are so common, it could very well be that. If you don't see any improvement after several weeks (and yes, it can take that long to leave yours and your baby's systems), then a total elimination diet would be the next step. Also, I'd keep a food journal to see if you can identify the trigger for the projectile vomiting.

I agree with the pp. I would start with dairy since that is the one that seems to pop up first. Not only that, but I know for me, it is much easier to take one thing out at a time. If you take out everything at once, she gets better, then you have to deal with figuring out what it is you took out that she's allergic to.

Three votes for eliminating dairy and keeping a food journal. Hope it works for you without the total elimination. This said, TED isn't a terrible thing if it makes your baby well.

Read post #20 in Healing the Gut Tribe Cheat Sheet stickied on main forum. You have a unique opportunity to reset her immune system and *prevent* allergies while she is still a neonate with bifidobacterium.

The gut flora is what closes up an infants leaky gut and protects the immune system from reacting to allergens. A baby cannot be born with food allergies, they are created by the environment.

Did she get antibiotics (or thru you)? or Hep B shot? C-section?

Thanks for the info. I will be reading through that tomorrow. She hasnt had any antiboitics or vaccines and no c-section. I had a shot of Pitocin right after she was born because the placenta didnt want to come out.
