Does this sound like a sensitivity?

DS is 3.5 months old. Since he was born he has been very gassy & had trouble passing, etc. Also, his poops tend to be yellowish/green.

He is exclusively bf.

This past week I've been sick and for the last 2 days have only been eating chicken soup and the day before that I didn't eat at all. Well the last 2 nights DS has slept much better than previously (he had been waking up about every hour). And today he had two poopies that were more or less bright yellow rather than yellowish/green.

Does it sound like he is sensitive to something I'm eating? And since I haven't been eating it the last couple of days things have improved?

It could be. There was another mom on here whose dc's allergic reactions went away when she had the flu and wasn't eating. Have you tried an elimination diet?

I've eliminated dairy but nothing else yet.

My DD is sensitive to gluten & dairy so we'll all soon be going on a n elimination diet.

Sounds like you might be right. Dairy is in everything, so you really have to be diligent. A large number of milk allergic (or intolerant) kids are also soy intolerant, so you may want to go ahead and cut that too. Check your vitamins for milk/soy.

About baby poop, I've read in several places that unless a breastfed infant has mucus or blood in their stool it should be considered normal. My son had both, but it didn't start until he was 4 months old. Before that they were just explosive and really messy.

Good luck figuring this all out
