I remember a few years ago instructions for washing the flame retardant out of pj's... does anybody know how to do this? Thanks, Kelly

Use 1 1/2 cup white vinegar in your wash load along with a little detergent.
This is a great idea for all infant car seats, strollers, ect that have removeable padding. All this stuff is covered in poison flame retardents.....

I also used to hear that Ivory Snow took out flame retardents. But since I don't buy Ivory Snow I've always used the vinegar.

THANK YOU! Wow, it's just vinegar? I didn't even think about the carseat covers! That's a good thing to know.

Ivory snow USED TO BE made from soap, not detergent. I think it was originally just ivory soap flakes.

Now it's made from detergent and when they first made the switch they proudly advertised that their product was "safe for baby clothes, wont' wash out protective flame retardants."
