totally OT: pre-made cookie dough question

i have a question...can i just buy pre-made cookie dough (sugar cookies or whatever would work best) to use for cookie cutter shapes? my mom made some w/ megh w/ some pre-made dough and they didn't hold the shape of the cookie cutters...they totally just spread out on them. any suggestions? want easiest way possible instead of having to make our own dough... thanks mamas!

after cutting them out put in the refrigerator to "stiffen up" before cooking. or just refrigerate all the dough before rolling out...this will help them hold their shape. HTH

Huh. I would have said yes, if not for your mom's experience. Try sugar cookie dough specifically -- seems like they would make that with the intent that people use cutters with it.

Now I am hungry for cookie dough.

mmmmmm me too pretty soon!!! yum mmmmmmmm! i finally tried toaster strudels the other day and man oh man are they good!!! who started that craving in us...i can't remember who that was. that is also on my list for today. those strawberry cream cheese filled ones are the bomb.

oh and now i'm craving thanksgiving!!! yum.
