I want to make a nice Xmas letter- anyone good with Word or other programs for that?

Instead of sending plain old cards I'd like to do a nice, decorated letter this year. Is Microsoft Word the right program for that? Does it have templates and things? Other than writing papers for school I really do not know anything about computers or doing creative things with them. TIA!

Word can do holiday newsletters. There are a lot of different programs out there marketed specifically for fun/decorative newsletters or cards, which are probably more exciting than Word, but it can be done in Word - and you can make it jolly if you add more things to some standard templates. I'm sure others will come along and post about other options, but here's some info on using Word.

Microsoft.com has templates you can download (free), and there seem to be a lot for Word in the Newsletter category, with at least three in a holiday-theme, you'll need to scroll down a little in this link:

If you want it more holiday-ish, you can pick a newsletter you like and then modify it with Clip Art. Go to their clip art section (free, also) to download holiday clip art and insert it into your newsletter. Here is a link to the clip are section, with a search on "Christmas." http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/cl...hristmas&sc=20

Here is the main link to the templates: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...CL100632981033

Happy newslettering!
