Breathing issues...

We spent today at the pedi and the hospital

H is having some episodes of really fast breathing - his resp rate this am was between 70-80 breaths per min...the poor thing was panting.

His color is good, he never got pale or blue, but none the less, its still scary.

We had a chest xray to rule out anything with heart size/lung issues, and those came back fine. We all felt ok to come home and keep a watch on him as it does come and go, and we are probably heading back tomorrow for some more testing.

He does have the tiniest bit of congestion (we didnt notice it at all - flashlight up the nose to see it) so we are trying saline drops to see if whatever is up there might be contributing to it.

Ugh, what a day.

Conrad has the same thing -- sent him to the NICU for two hours right after birth and caused some consternation during our hospital stay. His oxygen saturation level is okay, but like Henry, he seems to just breathe more than other babies, in sort of a panting way. We have our first ped. appointment tomorrow and will check on it then... Scary stuff. Sorry you're going through this.

Henry is in my thoughts and prayers, Kelli. I hope that these breathing issues are resolved soon. The stress and worry must be so hard.
