Nonvax children spread disease and vax children don't?

I have question. I was on a different forum and someone was saying nonvax children can spread disease and they don't want there child being responsible for getting a pregnant women infected.

So I was wondering do diseases just bounce off of vax children. Can't they still spread diseases(although it may not have any symptoms), don't viruses still attach to them and they can pass it on?(ex. they visit cousin who has chicken pox then go visit pregnant auntie - would only a nonvax person pass on the disease or wouldn't a vax person do the same?)

Hope you understand my jumble way of speaking, not the best person in english grammer.

TIA

Vaxed children can get diseases but they usually get a milder version. Vaccines do not promise that they keep diseases away all together but they do promise a likelihood of a milder version. With flu, though, you could get an entirely different strain than the vax.

But, that argument of which you write is very common. Do some searching in this forum about herd immunity and get the new Sears Vaccine Book from the library and you will learn enough to discuss back with them.

Some vaxes don't stop people from carrying the illness: pertussis and diptheria vaxes for example. And pertussis can be pretty dangerous for a baby if the mother catches it right before delivery. The vax can make it harder to spot that someone is carrying or is sick with pertussis (it is often misdiagnosed, especially in the vaxed) so the likelihood of untoward exposures is increased.

However, from the way the conversation was described, I think they were talking about rubella. Now, the sad part is, that the absolute best way to avoid catching rubella while pregnant is to have had it as a child. The vax isn't nearly as long-lasting, and having either the vax or rubella as an adult can lead to problems such as arthritis. But now, via the vax, we have an ever-increasing number of adult women who have no resistance to rubella, so we have an ever-increasing pressure on everyone to vax their toddlers against rubella to protect the unborn babies of the women who have no resistance because they were vaxed as toddlers.

There is no easy way out of this mess. At the same time, I am firmly opposed to sacrificing children to herd immunity.

Beats me.
