Yeast infection - past due date

I am thinking that I have a yeast infection. I have been having some burning and itching (but never discharge) for the past week. I have been soaking in warm salt water a couple of times a day and it hasn't gotten any worse or better. Today dh started to complain and he is red.

What is going to happen if I go into labor now? Will I have to be given antibiotics? Should I go out a buy some monistat now? I have an OB appt tomorrow morning, but don't want to bring it up if it is going to bring on any unwanted interventions during my birth.

This just really sucks, I have been doing everything possible to not have any interventions including using hibiclens before my gbs test and not getting cervical checks.

Thanks for any and all suggestions/advice.

If you are sure it is yeast (sounds like it - but could be something else I suppose) then it won't hurt you to not to treat it..BUT, the baby could develop thrush after the birth. Also - it makes it more uncomfortable during labor sometimes if the vaginal tissue is tender from the yeast. Have you tried acidophilus/yogurt?

Thanks for the reply. I went to the OB this morning and ended up seeing an older retired one that didn't do any kind of yeast testing just said to get the one day monistat. I will try that since it will be quicker.

Just a warning for you, the one day treatment will be working, but won't give you relief of your symptoms in one day. So, don't be alarmed if it is a few days before you are feeling better. If your husband has yeast on him, make sure he treats it as well otherwise you will just be giving it back and forth.... not fun! I hope it clears up very quickly for you!!!

Also, do the yogurt or probiotics TOO.

And make sure you treat DH if you are or are going to be exchanging bodily fluids in any way - I had annoying yeast growth on my nipples for months and months and when DH finally started taking probiotics (my nurslings & I already were) it went away.
