Hi All!
I am the mom to an 8 month old baby girl.
My dh is allergic to eggs and has hayfever. I have no allergies what so ever.
DD is ebf. My ped recommended that I avoid the major allergens in my diet while bf in hopes of preventing allergies in dd.
I have pretty much eliminated nuts, soy, dairy, eggs, citrus, berries. I also don't eat foods from the cabbage family for fear of gas in dd.
I REALLY miss some of these foods and feel that my diet is lacking in nutrition because of it...I am 10 lbs under my pre pg weight.
What I am wondering is...is what I am doing necessary? Does anyone have any knowledge on this? I plan to bf dd for at least 2 yrs...will I have to keep this up the whole time?
I have not really started solids with dd-but she wants to and I want to! I have tried sweet potato, pears, avocado with her-also iron fortified organic rice and oatmeal cereals. She seemed to do ok with it-perhaps a bit more gassy than normal.
dd has had MILD exema on an off forever! It is VERY mild on her elbows and sometimes on the sides of her face...I have not tracked it to anything specific.
can anyone help?
