Hi,
I have had twins twice and not managed a homebirth (first time couldn't find someone to help even though it would have been a good birth, second time they came at 31 weeks and so that wouldn't have been safe even though we were planning it to be at home.) However, if you have a midwife who is experienced and willing to do twins, you dd is able to get past 35 weeks (this is my midwife's cutoff), she should be able to do great. I have assisted my midwife with five homebirths of twins and she has done many more. She has transported one or two if one or both babies didn't perk up well after birth or seemed to need NICU observation, but most of her twin births have gone off without a hitch. You want someone comfortable with twins, comfortable with breech (because that second twin can turn any which way after birth) and who carries pitocin and methergen for hemmorhage since twin mamas are more prone to bleeding. You dd can make sure she gets a minimum of 130 grams daily of protein, and take an herbal iron supplement and liquid chlorophyll to build her blood and insulate against post partum bleeding. She can start taking it easier from 5 or 6 months on. Not bedrest, but slow down if working full time. More resting, no all day shopping or giant to do lists. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.
