I would like to gift my mother some durable, non-plastic lunch ware. I would prefer stainless steel or glass - absolutely no aluminum. Does anyone have one that they just love or one that they have their heart set on? I'm thinking glass because it can go in the microwave at her work, but she often takes salads so I don't think it's absolute necessity. TIA.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Crate & Barrel has some great options.http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=850&f=26185
I like these. If you have a store near you, they carry ones called glass work jars (I think) with lids. They're inexpensive (about $2 each?) I have about 12 of them that I use for lunches for DH and me. I freeze soups in them and put other side dishes in them.
Target also carries some Pyrex containers that have lids. These ones are nice because they can go in the oven, too.
