I just had to share. This weekend, for various reasons I won't get into, I lost a major contract. My income level is pretty much shot. I calmly took a shower, had a glass of wine, and broke it to DH. He was actually pretty pleased and said the job had been taking its toll on me.
So, today we had lunch together, sans kiddos, and he said he thinks I should devote myself completely to gender issues writing. Yes, it's my passion, but it's also not the easiest part of writing to break into. Still, we worked out a few ideas and agreed that financially we will be okay (with a little belt-tightening), so I'm going to go for it. I'm so excited! I'm also incredibly nervous, but the thought of reading/researching/writing feminism all the time - yippee!
