When do babies usually turn?

So...when do babies usually turn. I'm 28 weeks and I'm pretty sure mine is still head up b/c there is a huge amount of movement/kicking below my belly button. I mean I still have time right before I have to start thinking of a breech birth? Is there anything I should be doing to help this baby turn? (This is my first so I just don't know)

www.spinningbabies.com - check it out!

My babies don't get into proper birth position until, well, I go into labor. I usually have A LOT of fluid and they stay floaty until the end (which totally freaks out my midwives at times! ).

At 28 weeks they still have LOTS of room to flip around. I know my baby still moves around a lot, though I am pretty sure is starting to favor a heads-down position more.

I am not sure but I think it is sometime in the last couple months though mine was turned at 22wks and hasn't been head up again.

Spinning Babies is a great site! I wouldn't worry for a few more weeks. As someone said above, there's still plenty of room in there to wiggle (and wouldn't you want to wiggle if you could?). I'm 26 weeks and my baby flips from vertex to breech and back at least twice a day. My midwife said NO WORRIES, so I'm not worrying! At some point their heads will get big enough that moving around won't be as easy and comfortable, and they'll get comfy. The VAST majority of babies turn head down for birth, I see no reason to assume ours will be exceptions to that rule.

I feel most of the movement below my belly button, but everytime the midwife checks babies position it's head down. Haven't figured that one out yet!

I think most care providers say 34 weeks is when they would start recommending doing something to encourage baby to be head down. Even if your baby is breech you have lots of options, including breech delivery.

At nearly 30 weeks, my uterus is starting to think about nudging baby round and down, and he's not playing ball The majority of these babes will be vertex by 36/7 weeks.

Most of my movement is above my belly button, baby is head down, back to my right side, baby nearly facing my spine. (I've spent many hours smooshing my other babies. ) During my last pregnancy, she was breech until 39 weeks and then suddenly flipped around. It was painful, but really obvious!

They seem to turn when they want to. Rivka was breach until I was 38+ weeks. She turned by my 39 week appointment and was born 39 weeks + 4 days, so she obviously knew what she was doing even if she gave mama a scare!

Mine was vertex a month ago and was breech yesterday. S/he was also breech at 20 weeks. I was just slightly stressing about it today.

This baby is so breech that I can't share any movements with DH hardly because he can't feel the inside of my colon and vagina!

I'm not "worried" in terms of delivery, but I am getting so tired of the constant colon soccer. I have felt this baby feet up exactly two times the entire pregnancy. Sometimes she will try things out on the side, but most of the time she is happy to be kicking down south.

I am thinking about starting some major pelvic rocking. Like I said, I'm not worried at only 28 weeks along, I just can't wait for a few rib kicks so that my lower regions can get a rest!!

It's so different from DS. He was happily head down by this point, and didn't move anywhere but further down till delivery. Wonderful placement for everything in my body except my right rib, which got a lot of abuse from a little elbow or foot.
