My friend has a 4year old who has has eczema since almost birth. She's not on MDC, and she's not real familiar with anything to natural
I told her I would ask around to see if anyone knew of anything that could help him before he ends up on a bunch of meds. TIA.

From both dealing with my own and ds's. heridity plays a big part. Allergenic foods, not really the food just too muchof it. My triggers as well as ds dairy, eggs, and artifical colors. To much bathing or showers atht too hot. i only shower every other day and try to keep the temp 99-100. Ds only gets showered twice a week. I obviously spobge bathe both of us daily. It appears to me the bathing is the larger issue than the foods. Also we use natural soaps in all areas body/household. Moisturizing wise,I use weleda, myped reccomended aquaphor, cannot stand it, I use Sudacrem from Ireland, cannot get it in the US (not natural but works well and you do not have to use much and you do not have to use it often.

I have severe allergies and eczema. Becoming pregnant really aggravated both, and the only thing that helps my eczema is to stay far away from everything that has anything that I'm allergic to in it. Even in small doses, or something that you wash off (soap) with anything I'm even mildly allergic to will cause the eczema to flair up big time. Sometimes a flair up is my only response.

I would look into what she is putting on his skin first. Then what he is eating. I would also recommend that he see an allergist.

My dc has eczema related to food allergies. Besides avoidance, we bathe without soap but use Vanicream lotion (hypoallergenic, you can buy it online or at a pharmacy like Walgreens). I've tried natural things like shea butter, badger balm, calendula cream with little success. We don't deal with it so much now that we've identified the allergens

My nephew had eczema all over his body up until age 5, but his was hereditary and caused by environmental allergies. His mom switched her laundry soap to a scent and dye free variety, but it really didn't get much better until he got a little older.
